The summit is open to the Chapman and local community to dialogue on the Ethnic Studies Movement in California.
Participants will include local district leaders, community organizers, scholar-activists, and high school students. Workshops and dialogue circles will focus on 4 strands: parents, students, researchers & leaders, teachers. Summit goals include (a) to provide a context for Ethnic Studies, (b) to support local school district (Santa Ana Unified, Anaheim High School District) efforts to implement Ethnic Studies as a graduation requirement, (c) to begin organic discussion on the possibility of instituting an Ethnic Studies department at Chapman University.
EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO CHAPMAN STUDENTS AND THE PUBLIC.
