The legal profession has one of the highest rates of substance abuse as compared to other professions. Come hear Mr. Joseph Naus, a former attorney, speak about his personal experience with this issue. Mr. Naus was born and raised in the Inland Empire. He graduated from Pepperdine Law and practiced in Southern California until he was disbarred.

Mr. Naus offers a uniquely personal account of his struggles growing up in poverty and abuse, and his eventual substance abuse and sex addiction that ultimately ended his legal career. Mr. Naus wrote about his experiences in a book titled, "Straight Pepper Diet." The introduction to Straight Pepper Diet is: "On Tuesday, I was a respected civil trial lawyer making six-figures. On Wednesday, I woke up handcuffed to a hospital bed charged with attempted murder...and then it got worse."
