The 38th Annual Founders Day
with the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II
Dr. Barber’s plane from the East coast was cancelled, making it impossible for him to make it to California for Founders Day. The afternoon worship service will go on as scheduled in Memorial Hall with Dr. Barber preaching virtually. The morning lecture at 10:00 a.m. is cancelled completely.
Registration check in will now begin at 10:30 a.m. The bookstore will be open. There will be a table with information about the Poor People’s Campaign. There will be beverages out and tables on the lawn. Box lunches will be available at 11:45 a.m. There will be an optional campus tour at 12:15 p.m. Lett his be a time for fellowship & reconnection after our long COVID drought.
We know you are disappointed—the staff of Church Relations and the DOC students join you in that sentiment. Dr. Barber is personally disappointed. But the spirit of resilience, trust and goodwill is strong. We look forward to connecting with you tomorrow!
