Professional dancers, choreographers, and educators Brandee Lara, Ron Dennis, and Chloe Arnold discuss their personal lives, careers, and transitions as part of the tap dance community. Join a real-time conversation about tap dance and the state of the movement arts from these insiders informed by their extensive performance careers and creative pursuits.

 

Brandee Lara began her professional stage career regionally and on tour in such shows as 42nd Street, Anything Goes, and George M! She recently returned to the stage in George M! (opposite Tony award winner Sammy Williams), as the tap-dancing Sister Mary Hubert in Nunsense, and even as Mrs. Claus in Jolly Holly Holiday. She has enjoyed success as an award-winning director and choreographer in major regional productions of Man of La Mancha, West Side Story, Forever Plaid, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cabaret, Pippin and many more. Brandee holds a master’s degree in Dance and a bachelor’s degree in Theatre, both from CSULB, and has taught tap at Chapman University since 1997. Dance Teacher magazine awarded Brandee the 2015 Dance Teacher Award for Higher Education for her work at Chapman University.

 

Ron Dennis was the recipient of Theatre World's Special Award for his creation of the role of Richie in the original Broadway cast of A Chorus Line. His performances in musical theatre have spanned over 43 years, having been in the original casts of Hello Dolly, Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope, and My One and Only.

 

Chloé Arnold is an International Tap Star. She was seen on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance as the winner of the dance crew battle with her company, Syncopated Ladies (www.syncopatedladies.com). Along with viral videos such as BEYONCÉ TAP SALUTE shared by Beyoncé ("They Killed It”), Syncopated Ladies recently sold-out concerts in Dubai, New York City and Washington, DC with rave reviews in The New York Times and more. As a leading lady in the Art Form of Tap, Chloé has wooed audiences in over 28 countries and 35 states. Her work can be seen on film, television, and stages worldwide.

 

Co-Founder and Co-Director of the DC Tap Festival, Chloé's career highlights include choreographing CBS’s The Talk - Rocktober Halloween Spectacular, HBO’s The Comeback, commercials for Special K, Macy’s, and Canon, performing at Madison Square Garden for the opening of the NY Knicks 2013-2014 season, working with Beyoncé, recurring role as an Onyx Girl on HBO's Boardwalk Empire, guest performing on NBC's America's Got Talent, ABC’s Dancing With The Stars and FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, a sold-out NY run of her One Woman show My Life. My Diary. My Dance. at La MaMa in New York City, Global Fusion Concert in Dubai, Jacob’s Pillow Dance, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids Easter Bonnet at The Minskoff Theatre, numerous musical productions with the legendary Debbie Allen and performing at a star-studded gala hosted by Diddy at the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC.

 

Chloé is also a female entrepreneur that holds an Ivy League degree from Columbia University. She and her sister co-founded Chloé and Maud Productions and DC Tap Festival, and recently co-produced the award-winning documentary TAP WORLD with Hollywood Executive Producer Dean Hargrove.
