Dr. Earl Babbie is the Campbell Professor Emeritus in Behavioral Sciences. While interested in social problems such as overpopulation, world hunger, and prejudice, his career has centered on the writing of numerous textbooks about social research methods. He is best known for The Practice of Social Research, first published in 1975, with the 12th edition to be published in 2010. It is widely acknowledged as the leading text in its field for the past three decades.
