Malloy Performance Portico, Leatherby Libraries, 3rd Floor

Be our guest to hear Chapman University President Emeritus James Doti as he speaks about his latest children's book, I Love You This Much, Nonna -- the third in a series of three acclaimed children's books he has written based on his childhood in a close-knit Italian-American community in Chicago in the 1950s. The book was recently selected by Kirkus Reviews as one of its prestigious Best 100 Books of the Year.

The book’s story focuses on little Jimmy’s love for his grandmother, Nonna, and how a child must deal with the loss that comes into every life. Glorious color paintings by illustrator Bagram Ibatoulline complement the tale.

A limited number of copies of the book will be available for sale at the event, and Dr. Doti will be happy to sign your book(s). (A great gift for the kids in your life – but adults love these books, too!)

Light refreshments will be served.

This event will also include the dedication of the new “The Children’s Books by James L. Doti” Wall on the 3rd floor of the Leatherby Libraries.

You can contact the event organizer, Joy Flynn at jflynn@chapman.edu or (714) 744-7608.
