Born and raised in Hawaii of Hapa Samoan descent, ukulele virtuoso and songwriter Taimane is renowned for both her fierce and inventive style of playing the four-string island staple. She comes to Musco Center riding a giant wave of momentum having sold out five consecutive North American shows, wowed media and concertgoers alike at SXSW 2019 and exploded in popularity worldwide now boasting over 250,000 online followers. Taimane began playing the ukulele at age 5, became a weekly fixture in Don Ho’s venerable Waikiki show when she was just 13 and soon thereafter received tutelage of modern ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro. Fast forward to today, and you have an artist who tours the world and has carved out a unique niche in music – merging a wide-array of genres, from Bach to rock, flamenco infernos to tribal hymns, summoning a seemingly limitless palette of emotions via an instrument previously viewed as a restricted device. Come experience Taimane's beauty, grace, and passion, and see why Taimane is quickly becoming a global cultural beacon.

5 consecutive sold out shows in North America

"I didn’t see anyone at the [SXSW 2019] festival doing anything close to what she [Taimane] does on stage. She shreds on ukulele and rocks everything from Beethoven to Led Zeppelin. Somehow she manages to not only rock out but connect the audience with meaningful Hawaiian traditions and dances." - Austin American-Statesman
