Tax Law Symposium
The Implications of Wayfair on Interstate Taxation
This event will take place from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Chapman University Fowler School of Law presents a seminar on the implications of South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc., a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that dramatically expands the
powers of states to tax interstate commerce sales, particularly
online sales.
Michael T. Fatale, Deputy General Counsel, Massachusetts Department of Revenue, explores Wayfair and the demise of the U.S. Supreme Court’s physical presence test. Covered are the consequences for interstate sales tax and business income taxes. We will try to predict what comes next.
Chapman University is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and certifies that this activity has been approved for 1 hour of MCLE credit.
