The Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law is pleased to present Alan Rothenberg as a part of the 2017-2018 Chapman Dialogue Series.

Alan Rothenberg is Chairman of Premier Partnerships, a sales, consulting, and marketing firm specializing in representing clients in sports, entertainment, public facilities, and events, with offices in Santa Monica, California and New York City. The firm has served clients as the NBA, NFL International, Atlanta Falcons, University of California, Berkeley (Kabam Field), San Diego State University (Viejas Arena), Rose Bowl, Oakland Coliseum (O.Co), FC Dallas (Toyota Stadium), Philadelphia Union (PPL Stadium), Dolby Theater, Ottawa Sports and Entertainment (TD Place), Grand Central Terminal, and Feld Entertainment, among others.

Mr. Rothenberg is also the founder and Chairman of 1st Century Bank, a successful independent bank opened in 2004 with offices in Century City, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, California, with a special focus in serving professionals, high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and closely held and family owned businesses.

A lawyer and partner in major law firms in Los Angeles for over 35 years, Rothenberg specialized in representing financial institutions, sport teams, leagues, facilities and individuals; and entertainment clients.

Among sports clients he represented were the LA Lakers, LA Clippers, LA Kings, Portland Trailblazers, Seattle Supersonics and the NBA, Bruce Jenner, Amy Alcott, Steve Garvey, and Greg Louganis.

His involvement in sports led to major roles in the development of soccer in the United States. After serving as Chairman of the LA Aztecs in the NASL, he was soccer Commissioner in the 1984 Olympics, President of U.S. Soccer from 1990-1998, Chairman and CEO of the incredibly successful 1994 FIFA World Cup and Chairman of the historic 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. He was the founder of the U.S. Soccer Foundation, which was funded by the $50+ million surplus from the 1994 World Cup. This subsequently provided the funding for Major League Soccer, also founded by Mr. Rothenberg.

Mr. Rothenberg has been very active in bar, civic, and corporate activities, serving at various times as President of the State Bar of California, Chairman of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, President of the Los Angeles Airport Commission (LAX and 2 other airports), Chairman of the Los Angeles Sports Council, member of the Zenith National (NYSE), Arden Reality (NYSE), and CPK, Inc.
