Join us for a screening of short documentary films, written, directed, filmed and edited by Dodge College students this past summer on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in the Folino Theater. A Q&A with the student filmmakers and reception to follow. Seating is first come.

Synopsis: Malawi's dwindling Sikh population came to southern Africa to help build the railroads more than a century ago. Today, they meld Sikh with African traditions as they hold on in a rapidly changing social landscape.

Synopsis: Malawi is suffering from years of severe drought, causing widespread hunger, violence and social dislocation. A non-profit is building wells in villages across Malawi, hoping to tap into aquifers before conditions get worse.

Synopsis: Like so much of Africa, Malawi is wracked by an orphan crisis, mostly due to the HIV epidemic. An orphanage provides a desperately needed lifeline to youngsters, before they go off on their own into a world full of opportunities and hazards alike.
