Ioan Grillo has been reporting on Latin America since 2001 for international media, including the New York Times, Reuters, CNN, and the Associated Press. He has also authored several books detailing the grit and blood of the Mexican narco wars, including El Narco and Blood Guns Money: How America Arms Gangs and Cartels. Grillo is a boots-on-the-ground journalist, a fantastic raconteur, and a leading authority on the Mexican narco wars. In 2022, Grillo received the Cabot Award, Latin America’s most prestigious journalistic honor.
