Faculty Writing Communities
General Interest Session
Faculty Writing Communities (FWCs) aim to provide faculty of all ranks and from all programs across the Chapman community with the camaraderie and accountability to meet their academic writing goals more effectively.
These interdisciplinary groups meet on a regular basis, and are designed to motivate faculty and increase scholarly productivity by
· challenging members to set their own goals for scholarly writing,
· reporting back to colleagues on their progress during each meeting, and
· holding each other accountable to meet benchmarks and goals.
Who Should Consider Joining?
Have you been thinking about getting started on or revising a manuscript, monograph, book chapter, grant proposal, or other creative or academic writing project but just can’t get motivated? If so, then a Faculty Writing Community may be just what you need!
A FWC can help:
- Counteract the isolation inherent within much of scholarly and creative works.
- Reignite interest in, and commitment to existing, yet unfinished projects.
- Support ongoing productivity.
- Help flesh out or reframe a project.
- Provide feedback on a draft or partial manuscript.
- Identify potential collaborators on a writing project.
Join us for an informal interest session to meet potential writing community colleagues! No registration is required.
