Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett is a research fellow and the scientific lead for the Coronavirus Vaccines & Immunopathogenesis Team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Vaccine Research Center (VRC). A viral immunologist by training, Dr. Corbett has been leading the development of a vaccine for COVID-19 that is now produced by industry partner Moderna. Dr. Corbett's efforts led to the start of a phase I clinical trial just 66 days after the release of the viral genome sequence.
