Manage Your Citations Before They Get Out of Hand: Training in Citation Management Software

This course will teach students how to utilize the freely available Citation Management software, Zotero, in order to most effectively keep track of the resources they will come across during their capstone research projects. Additionally, the course will teach students how to use the program to instantly generate in-text citations and a bibliography. Lastly, the course will offer students some best practices regarding the documentation of research and scholarly sources, which will facilitate the final phase of their thesis.
Dr. Hilmi Ulas, Assistant Professor, Department of Peace Studies

Dr. Hilmi Ulas is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Peace Studies and holds a PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. His topical specialties are international conflicts, democratization, nonviolence, and recognition of states. Methodology-wise, he specializes in multimethod research, documentary research, and the utilization of secondary data. He is also adept in library research techniques, having worked as a Library Assistant, and offered workshops on various topics there.
