In this talk, Dr. Prescod-Weinstein will introduce the audience to cosmology, the field of research that focuses on the origins and evolution of the universe and everything inside of it. Her work as a theoretical cosmologist focuses primarily on what happened during the first minute and its imprints on what we see today, including the structure of galaxies. She will describe these different eras in cosmology and the way she uses ideas from atomic physics to explore one possible explanation for the dark matter.

Dr. Prescod-Weinstein is a theoretical physicist specializing in early universe cosmology. She is an Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy and Core Faculty Member in Women’s Studies at the University of New Hampshire.

Science Forum Series is an opportunity for special guests to present their latest research to our campus community. Refreshments will be provided.
