From Breadth to Depth: Transitioning from Chapman to SpaceX

 About the Speaker

Nicholas graduated from Chapman in 2022 with a double major in Computer Science and Computer Engineering and a minor in Game Development Programming.  While at Chapman, he worked as a Lab Assistant in the GCI Makerspace, was the lead developer on a graduate thesis game (Fugue), presented optoelectronics research at SPIE Photonics West, was President of the Chapman Robotics Club, and worked on various side projects.
 
He currently works at SpaceX on the Vehicle Control Plane team, primarily writing software for Satellites, User Terminals, and Gateways to keep customer traffic flowing and provide metrics for analysis.  While at SpaceX, he was the gateway software developer for Community Gateway, the world’s fastest satellite internet.
