Generative AI and Visual Communication
Adobe Digital Literacy Cafe
Generative AI and Visual Communication across the Curriculum with Adobe
Most of the conversation about generative AI in higher education has so far focused on text, large language models, and academic integrity, for obvious reasons.
In the November Digital Literacy Café, we aim to broaden and deepen the conversation by looking closely at generative AI image creation in terms of the visual arts and communication.
Featuring firsthand input by an award-winning product designer and recent graduate from the California College of the Arts, our panel of expert faculty in graphic design, visual communication, photography, and illustration will share their perspectives on best practices for curricular integration, implications for the future of creative professions, and the future of creativity in general.
Guest Panel:
Terrence Oliver
Walter Spearman Distinguished Professor, Hussman School of Journalism and Media, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Stephen Hart
Principal Customer Success Manager for Adobe Higher Education, former AP Photojournalist
Dr. Lauren Walsh
Visiting Assistant Professor of Visual Culture Studies and Photo/Journalism, The Gallatin School, New York University; Founder and Director of the Gallatin Photojournalism Intensive
Ashok Suresh Thirunilathil
Award-winning Product Designer and recent graduate from the California College of the Arts
