Fowler Engineering Presents: 2023 Cyberattack Update and Why US Businesses Have Trouble Sleeping
Speaker: Brad Kelso
Abstract: Keeping it simple, US businesses are going through a cyber security risk TSUNAMI challenge. They have to pay the debt of having ignored security underspend while the wolves are mounting, and it is too much to handle in one swoop. 2021 insurance payouts for Cybercrime were $21B, causing most companies to have to rethink their security postures. Cybercrime, if taken as an industry, would be #5 worldwide. This talk will explore…
1. What businesses are really facing to get secure “enough” in 2023, ensuring business safety and continuity, and staying insured all at the same times, from people who are living it on the front lines.
2. For students…what is happening in Cybercrime to businesses- it’s eye popping. What does an attack look like to a business. Who pays and what do they pay? And how? How to mitigate risk?
