The theme of “An Evening with Fr. Greg Boyle” is “Faith That Does Justice,” which reflects the central claim of the 32nd General Congregation of the Society of Jesus (1974–75). This claim is that the crucial struggle of our time is the struggle not just for faith but also for justice, which faith necessarily includes. With this crucial struggle in mind, Fr. Boyle founded Homeboy Industries, one of the world’s largest gang-rehab and re-entry programs. In recognition of his work, he will receive an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Chapman University.
