THE BRAIN INSTITUTE RESEARCH SHOWCASE
Come and explore ground-breaking research at the Brain Institute
Come to the Brain Institute’s research showcase for an evening of scientific discovery.
Do humans have free will? How to design artificial intelligence? How does brain activity relate to conscious experience? At the Brain Institute, we explore some of the biggest unanswered questions in modern science and philosophy. To tackle this monumental challenge, we use cutting-edge research technologies and methodologies: brain stimulation, neuroimaging, virtual reality, hypnosis, floatation, magic, and more. At our research showcase, we will discuss ongoing projects that make use of these methods and strive to answer these difficult questions.
Faculty, postdocs, and graduate students at the Brain Institute work closely with undergraduate research assistants from Chapman and other universities. Several of the undergraduate students working at the Brain Institute have received Chapman’s Scholarly/Creative Grants and SURF fellowships, have presented at international conferences, have been involved in publications, and have gone on to pursue research at the graduate level. If you are interested in psychology, neuroscience, engineering, artificial intelligence, neurology, psychiatry, virtual reality, or similar topics and would like to explore the exciting world of contemporary brain research, join us for the Brain Institute’s research showcase.
