Homecoming Master Class
Join this event that will feature a Zoom roundtable on legal aspects of environmental justice. In Environmental Justice: Engaging the Law, experts in environmental justice, including law faculty and practitioners, will discuss their work, which ranges from pioneering an environmental justice comic book to specialized work in Flint, Michigan, California and the United States. Professor Tony Arnold, University of Louisville School of Law
Directory of the interdisciplinary Resilience Justice Project. Nationally recognized expert in the environmental regulation of land use.
Professor Rebecca Bratspies, CUNY School of Law
Founding director of the CUNY Center for Urban Environmental Reform (CUER). Teaches environmental justice, human rights and the environment, environmental law, administrative law and property.
Professor Noah Hall, Wayne State University School of Law
Founder of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center. Served as special assistant attorney general for Michigan for the Flint water investigation. Expertise in environmental governance, federalism, and transboundary pollution and resource management.
Heather Kryczka, Project Attorney, Environmental Justice at Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)
Advocates with and litigates on behalf on environmental justice communities, including those that are disproportionately impacted by pollution from the goods movement industry.
Professor Uma Outka, University of Kansas School of Law
Works at the intersection on energy law and environmental law. Teaches courses in environmental law, property, energy law, environmental justice, and climate change law and policy.
Moderated by Professor Deepa Badrinarayana, Chapman University Fowler School of Law
Consultant to the United Nations Global Compact on issues of corporate voluntarism and regulations. Member of the World Conservation Union, Committee on Environmental Law, Chair of the AALS Section on Law and South Asian Studies, and Executive Committee member of the AALS Section on Environmental Law.
