Less than 4% of the 2020 graduating class from Chapman has earned the additional distinction of completing the Leadership Studies (LEAD) Minor. The LEAD Program in the Attallah College of Educational Studies serves students from every academic unit on campus, with an expressed purpose "To prepare our students to lead a life of service dedicated to creating a better - a more just and more caring - world" and an explicit mission "To complement and reinforce the University's Mission by enhancing the transformative and servant leadership capacity of any Chapman student in any discipline or field."
The annual LEAD Senior Reception & Recognition Ceremony provides an opportunity to honor and celebrate these exemplary students' completion of the program. Graduation cords and completion certificates have already been mailed to each of our 50+ seniors. This event, featuring a welcome by the Dean of the College, Dr. Margaret Grogan, will be presided over by Drs. Mark Maier and Gregory Warren (co-coordinators of LEAD). In addition to providing every senior with an opportunity to make brief remarks, the major award winners in LEAD will also be announced:
- The Leadership Studies Program Academic Excellence Award;
- The Robert K. Greenleaf Servant Leadership Award (for service to the community);
- The Christine and Bradley Comp Award for Campus Service;
- The Leslie & Nick Hanauer Award for Civic Engagement and Social Change; and
- The Outstanding Graduating Senior Award
The program will conclude with a reflective reading,"Choose to Bless the World," by some 20 LEAD faculty.
Congratulations to all of Chapman's 2020 Leadership Studies Graduates!
