Faculty

are invited to attend.

This is for faculty with some experience in Canvas or who have taken the Canvas Overview Workshop. In this hands-on session, you will learn how to create modules and add content to modules, such as assignments, quizzes, and pages. You will use the Rich Content Editor to add content such as

  • Files: PDF, PPT, Word
  • Content from Google Drive
  • Audio/Video
  • Third-Party Tools
  • Canvas Icons

This workshop will also review course set-up, including course navigation and advanced settings.

Learn what items will transfer over from Blackboard to Canvas, what items won't transfer, and the amount of cleanup that might be necessary depending on the type of content you have. Be sure to make an informed decision before attempting to move content from Blackboard over to Canvas. This workshop also includes the steps necessary to transfer content, as well as tips for organizing your Blackboard content to make it easier to move.

Come Prepared

While our training rooms have computers, you may find you are more comfortable with your own device. Feel free to bring your laptop. Please bring your syllabus and sample or real course content to upload into your Canvas course so you have something to work with. You can bring the items in a flash drive, have them on your laptop (if you plan to work on your laptop) or have them available on a cloud drive such as OneDrive or Google Drive.

Joining Via Zoom
