Diavolo
Architecture in Motion: Voyage, Veterans Project, and More
Founded in 1992 by French-born choreographer and visionary Jacques Heim, Diavolo is a cultural pillar of the Los Angeles community. Their work searches to expand the boundaries of what is considered to be dance by creating a living cinematic experience of powerful images and abstract narratives.
Diavolo's performance will feature Voyage, a piece inspired by space travel and the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Set in a surreal landscape of infinite possibilities, Voyage follows a young woman on her journey into a universe bustling with energy, whimsy, and surprising transformations. Company member Christopher Carvalho is a Chapman University dance alumnus.
“Defying gravity doesn’t just look easy. It feels like the human spirit, ever enduring.”
