Soprano Kirsten Ashley Wiest and pianist Nic Gerpe present an exciting evening recital exploring the evolution of the Art Song and the capabilities of the classical voice in our modern world.
Songs by living L.A.-based composers: Bill Alves, Juhi Bansal, Jeffrey Holmes, and Jack Van Zandt; plus Wiest's signature aria, György Ligeti's astoundingly virtuosic Mysteries of the Macabre, showcasing the terror of the apocalyptic world.
$10 general admission; $5 seniors 65+, alumni, and non-Chapman students; free for Chapman students, faculty, and staff.
