Grand Challenges Initiative (GCI) New Student Mixer and Movie Night
Hosted By
Residence Life and First Year Experience
Schmid College of Science and Technology
This fall, Schmid College is launching the Grand Challenges Initiative (GCI). Working in small interdisciplinary teams over their first two years in Schmid College, students engage in grand challenges that fascinate them, from realizing unlimited renewable energy to explaining how the brain functions.
To kick it all off, Schmid College and Residence Life and First Year Experience are partnering to screen “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” for all 300 students registered in the course this fall, as well as their faculty. This event will be held August 31, in the Sandhu Conference Center, from 7-10 p.m.
We have a very special guest speaker attending who will participate in a Q&A with the GCI students. We'll also have lots of pizza and refreshments!
