2016 Education Summit
Challenging Myths of Diversity and Inclusion

8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. PST
This year, the Donna Ford Attallah Educator Development Academy and the Paulo Freire Democratic Project are co-sponsoring a summit drawing together diverse topics and interests in education. This event will include two notable keynote speakers, Dr. Airini and Dr. Christine Sleeter. Three simultaneous learning strands will take place at the Summit. The first strand, entitled "Teacher and Community Development" will explore topics of special education in workshop formats. The second strand entitled “Critical Pedagogy: Relational and Responsive Inclusion” will include dialogical spaces and presentations concerning critical issues in education. The final strand “Ecologies of Knowing” will be a space for PhD students from Chapman and our local universities to present their own work.

Participants are encouraged to attend all workshops, presentations, and dialogues in any of the strands as they wish. Registration will be limited due to space for only 200 participants. Please register early and we look forward to seeing you on March 12, 2016
