Desegregation in California: Local Roots
Exhibit reception in conjunction with Orange Public Library
This exhibit highlights the history of segregation in Orange and one local El Modena family whose participation in the landmark Mendez v Westminster court case led to desegregation of schools in California. Created in collaboration between the Frank Mt. Pleasant Library of Special Collections and Archives and the Orange Public Library. The exhibit is part of the programming series "Latino Americans: Shared Orange Heritage," funded through a grant from The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
